Olajumoke Orisaguna: The Nigerian Cinderella

Do you know Olajumoke Orisaguna? Yes, the ex bread seller who became a model over night. Have you ever wondered how it all happened? You don't need to bother yourself because I'm here to save the day. Lol. So, just sit down, relax and get ready for one of the best fairy tales ever.

It all started during Tinie Tempah's photo shoot with Ty Bello. Ty Bello was asked to meet with Tinie Tempah at his hotel but she disagreed saying that they should bring Tinie Tempah to Yaba to have the photo shoot.
"I love Lagos..I won't lie..The streets are a literal Photographer's paradise. Everywhere you turn there's a story waiting to be told..,textures waiting to be shot and characters waiting to be explored..it's hard for me to make a bad picture when my spirit is really opened on the streets..I can just stand there and magic walks into my frame. The beautiful bread seller in the red dress is one of my edits..You know her Abi?..That one that every one on the street wants to marry.. She's fine and she knows it..its all over how she walks and I know you've seen her before." Ty Bello said on her official Instagram page.

She walked unto their set and magic happened. It wasn't planned at all. Olajumoke was a bread hawker from the Sabo Market Bakery, she walked entirely by coincidence unto their set of their THIS DAY style shoot for Tinie Tempah . She agreed to take a picture with Tinie Tempah on the set of the photo shoot and she moved on. Unknowingly to her, she was moving on to greater things.

Olajumoke, 27, the mother of two beautiful girls used to be a hair stylist at Ire in Osun State but she was not making enough profit so she relocated to Lagos with her 14 month old daughter to give bread hawking a try, leaving her husband and older 5 year old daughter behind. She was a trained hairdresser back in Osun State but her family could not afford the necessarily 'freedom' ceremony; a passing out ritual that gives a trainee an unwritten permission to start a full fledged salon.

They all decided that that the make over would be incomplete if it ended at the studio. Every one started to reach out to their contacts and through Bimpe Onakoya, one of Nigerian's leading makeup artist who was present at the studio, they were able to get her a meeting with Ugo the pioneer of Make Me Salon.

As a result of the buzz she generated from the THIS DAY cover, Olajumoke Orisaguna is now close to starting an internship at Make Me Salon and has been offered an additional internship with Sari Hair Studio, a famous Lebanese Salon on the Lagos Island. She has also been offered a modelling contract with the help of Godson Ukaegbu from Few Model Management. She has also had PayPorte reach out to her to be a model on their next billboard campaign.
